Mattingly reunites with his iconic mustache, and all is right with the world
Dodger manager Don Mattingly and his long-lost mustache were reunited for a one-night-only special on "The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon" on Monday night.
Mattingly and an extremely impressive 1980s 'stache were seemingly inseparable for much of his 14-year career with the Yankees. But lately, the former first baseman has since taken up a more clean-shaven look.
But Mattingly and his whiskers' parting of the ways was not an acrimonious split. When the former first baseman returned to New York for the Dodgers' series against the Mets, Mattingly told Fallon, "I'd been looking all over for that thing."
Luckily for Donnie Baseball, his mustache just happened to be in attendance at Monday's show taping. Fallon gamely offered to reunite Mattingly's upper lip with his classic hair piece.
And all was right with the world once again:
