Kuroda staying put in Los Angeles
Scratch Hiroki Kuroda off the list of trade candidates.
Kuroda informed the Dodgers on Saturday that he does not expect to waive his no-trade clause and would like to remain with the team next year, according to the team’s official Twitter feed.
A number of contenders – most recently the Red Sox, Yankees, and Rangers – had shown interest in the right-hander in recent days, major-league sources said.
Kuroda is 6-13 with a 3.11 ERA in 21 starts this year. His decision to remain with the Dodgers makes Ubaldo Jimenez of the Rockies the clear No. 1 starter available on the trade market.
This is Kuroda’s fourth season with the Dodgers. The 36-year-old spent 11 seasons with the Hiroshima Toyo Carp of the Japanese Central League. He signed a one-year, $12 million contract before this season.
