Josh Harrison stops on a dime to avoid tag while sliding into second base

This wild pop-up slide that Josh Harrison showcased on Tuesday night in Pittsburgh may not be the most beautiful or the forgiving on the knees, but it's hard to argue against its effectiveness.

The Pirates' second baseman decided test the arm of Nationals center fielder Michael Taylor after smacking a ball into left-center field. Taylor beat Harrison with the throw and looked to have Harrison dead to rights at second base, but -- as we've learned in the past -- the Pittsburgh infielder is quite slippery on the basepaths.

The play was reviewed and it was confirmed that Harrison was indeed safe at second by the smallest of margins.

It's a lot easier to be aggressive on the basepaths when you have great speed and the ability to pull Houdini acts out of nowhere.
