Is Donald Trump interested in buying the Cleveland Indians? (AUDIO)
Billionaire Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is known to be an avid sports fan.
And he's also known for saying some pretty crazy things.
So what if he said he's going to buy the Cleveland Indians?
Well, he did.
Trump made the tongue-in-cheek comment about buying Cleveland's storied MLB franchise Tuesday in an interview on the "Hugh Hewitt Show," a nationally syndicated political-based talk show.
Hewitt, a native of Northeast Ohio and presumably an Indians fan, asked Trump if he could "buy the Indians and save them," to which Trump had an interesting response.
"I'll tell you what, that's a great franchise there's no question about it, that's true," Trump told Hewitt. "It's really a fabled and great franchise."
Trump went on to say that owning a professional sports team is a "tough business," noting that owners usually don't make money until they sell the team.
As far as the Indians go, Hewitt joked: "if you want to win Ohio in the general, you definitely want to own the Indians."
Trump's response? "Good then I'll buy them. We'll work out a deal."

Unfortunately for Tribe fans disgruntled with ownership, Trump's comments were clearly made in jest -- and maybe with the hopes of earning a few extra votes.
