Indians catcher taunts Jonathan Lucroy for vetoing trade to Cleveland
The Cleveland Indians had a great MLB trade deadline, adding one of the best relievers in baseball in Andrew Miller from the New York Yankees. It could have been an extraordinary deadline if they were also able to get All-Star catcher Jonathan Lucroy from the Milwaukee Brewers.
Lucroy vetoed the trade, though, and ended up being shipped to the Texas Rangers before Monday's deadline.
It all worked out fine, but the sentiment out of Cleveland is the Indians -- whose 60 wins are second in the A.L. only to Texas' 62 -- won't simply forget that Lucroy turned them down.
Gimenez isn't bitter. He's hitting .202 with a .273 slugging percentage in 108 plate appearances his season and admitted he probably would have been out of a job if the Indians did get Lucroy. He's just enjoying the opportunity to taunt Lucroy for not joining the club.
