Giancarlo Stanton launches another bomb off Jacob deGrom
Giancarlo Stanton continues to own Jacob deGrom, hitting tape-measure home runs off the Mets hurler.
Stanton dropped another bomb on deGrom on Saturday with this third-inning moonshot that went 441 feet and almost cleared the left-field scoreboard in Marlins Park. It landed between the words BALLS and STRIKES.
"I didn't break any lights," Stanton said, "so that was good."
Miami's right fielder also singled off deGrom twice to improve to 6-for-6 with three homers against the lefty. Stanton also singled off reliever Seth Lugo for his first four-hit game since 2012, raising his average to .242. He finished with three RBIs in the Marlins' 7-2 win over the Mets.
Earlier this month, Stanton crushed two homers off deGrom, including the longest ever hit at Citi Field, 470 feet.
When asked what he saw from Stanton, deGrom answered with a frown.
"I saw him hit a ball pretty far over the wall," deGrom said.
