After an efficient 12-pitch first inning, Cubs starter Jason Hammel was pulled from Wednesday's start with left hamstring tightness, according to MLB.com.

As MLB.com wrote, “Hammel retired the side in order in the first, and appeared to pull up when Matt Carpenter hit a grounder to first baseman Anthony Rizzo for the second out.”
