Choo, Chirinos homer to lead Rangers past Red Sox 7-2

BOSTON (AP) Shin-Soo Choo homered on David Price's first pitch of the game, and Elvis Andrus scored to break a sixth-inning tie as the Texas Rangers beat the Boston Red Sox 7-2 on Tuesday night to snap a three-game losing streak.

Robinson Chirinos added a three-run homer in the ninth as the Rangers scored four runs off All-Star selection Craig Kimbrel. The Red Sox closer was one of six Boston players selected for the AL roster. Texas had two.

Price (8-6) threw 46 pitches in first two innings - 45 after Choo drove the first one of the game out to center. Texas loaded the bases on two singles and a walk before Prince Fielder struck out looking - drawing a mock cheer from Boston fans.

But the Rangers managed just one more run in the inning. Price settled down and the Red Sox tied it before Andrus singled and scored to make it 3-2 on Rougned Odor's double.
