Blue Jays' Sanchez: 'So far, so good' after playing catch

The Toronto Blue Jays' starting rotation could be getting a boost in the near future.

Aaron Sanchez was put on the disabled list after his excellent start on June 5 with general soreness that wouldn't subside.

He played catch for the first time today and told Sportsnet that it went well:

“Everything is so far, so good according to what we’ve had planned. Today was the first day I threw, made 25 throws at 60 feet pain-free. Moving forward, I don’t know what they have in store for me, but we’ll see where everything goes.”

In that start on June 5, Sanchez pitched into the ninth and really looked like he turned the corner after a rough start to the season. His first seven starts yielded a 3-4 record and a 4.26 ERA, but was 2-1 with a 2.57 ERA in the four starts that followed.
