Big Papi ties Ted Williams, 2 other Hall of Famers on career HR list

David Ortiz hit his 521st career home run Friday night — a two-run homer in the fourth that tied him with Ted Williams, Willie McCovey and Frank Thomas at 19th on the career home run list.
"It means a lot. Historically, you guys know how great Mr. Ted Williams was," Ortiz said. "It's wonderful, man. We're talking about some of the greatest hitters in the game."
However, it was one of Boston's few highlights in an 8-4 loss to Seattle.
