The Oakland Athletics have agreed to terms with first-round pick Billy McKinney on a deal that includes a $1.8 million bonus.

McKinney, the 24th player selected overall, took batting practice at the Oakland Coliseum before Friday night's game between the A's and Seattle Mariners.

A center fielder at Plano West High School in Plano, Texas, McKinney batted .372 with four home runs and 17 RBIs as a senior. The left-handed hitting McKinney struck out just six times in 2012.

McKinney had committed to TCU before getting drafted by Oakland.
