A's Brooks quotes classic 'Annie' song on Twitter after tough outing

Wednesday night's outing by Oakland Athletics right-hander Aaron Brooks wasn't one to remember.

Brooks, making his third start for the A's since coming over from the Kansas City Royals in the Ben Zobrist trade, was battered for eight earned runs in just 1 2/3 innings of work by the Toronto Blue Jays.

After the game, which the A's lost 10-3, Brooks took to Twitter to send out a hopeful tweet that quotes the classic musical 'Annie':

Whether Brooks is a Broadway enthusiast or not, the quote is relevant both for himself and the A's, who continue to struggle down the stretch as they try to evaluate their roster for 2016 and beyond.

Brooks, meanwhile, had thrown two straight solid outings for the Green and Gold since coming over from K.C., so hopefully for his sake Wednesday night's disaster was a temporary thing.
