Are Orioles and Tim Lincecum a good fit? Team reported to be 'interested'

Free-agent right-hander Tim Lincecum is still on the market, and the Baltimore Orioles are said to be one of the clubs with some level of interest.

The report comes from The Baltimore Sun's Eduardo A. Encina, who notes that the O's interest level is "unclear" at the moment but that they're still in the mix.

Lincecum, 31, saw his 2015 season (and, likely, his tenure with the San Francisco Giants) end early after hip surgery derailed his year. He has yet to throw for teams this offseason, something that has presumably prevented him from signing somewhere.

Encina notes that Lincecum is expected to look for a major-league deal, and Encina opines that it could end up an incentive-laden contract like the one the O's had with Johan Santana after his second shoulder procedure.

Before the hip surgery last year, Lincecum went 7-4 with a 4.13 ERA in 15 starts. During his nine-year MLB career he is 108-83 record with 3.61 ERA, four All-Star appearances, two NL Cy Young Awards, three World Series rings and two no-hitters (both against the San Diego Padres).
