Alabama tailback Drake likely out 2 weeks with fractured arm

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Alabama tailback Kenyan Drake is likely out at least two weeks with a fractured right arm.

Coach Nick Saban said Monday that the second-ranked Crimson Tide's backup tailback has had successful surgery.

Drake has run for 333 yards and a touchdown while catching 21 passes for 234 yards and a score. His 2014 season ended with a broken leg sustained against Mississippi.

That leaves freshmen Damien Harris and Bo Scarbrough to play bigger roles for the third-ranked Crimson Tide behind Derrick Henry Saturday against Charleston Southern and possibly Auburn in two weeks.

Saban says cornerback Minkah Fitzpatrick is day to day after spraining his knee but should be able to practice enough to play Saturday.
