Peter pleased to join 100 club

The 30-year-old striker revealed he was desperate to find the net

again following his goal against Wolves before Christmas as he

feared being stuck on 99 for some time. But the striker climbed out

of his sickbed to hit a first-half double to sink struggling

Blackburn and smash through the ton barrier. He said: “I am really

pleased and proud to get 100 league goals. I feel very pleased and

proud with that. “I am more pleased to get it out of the way to be

honest, because the longer you are on 99 the harder it is to get to

100. “Hopefully now that is out of the way I can look forward to

many more. I was suffering quite a bit with illness but I have

certainly felt back to my best today.”
