Galaxy topple Herediano in CONCACAF match
Omar Gonzalez, Jose Villarreal, Robbie Keane and Jack McBean all
scored to lead the Los Angeles Galaxy to their first ever CONCACAF
Champions League semifinals with a 4-1 win over Costa Rico’s
Herediano on Wednesday.
Gonzalez headed home a corner in the 18th minute before
Villarreal held off two defenders to curl home a shot from 22 yards
in the 69th.
Keane added another from a tight angle in the 83rd minute and
McBean sealed the win in stoppage time as the Galaxy advanced with
a 4-1 aggregate after a 0-0 draw in the first leg last week in
Heredia, Costa Rica.
Elias Aguilar scored in the 85th minute for Herediano.
Los Angeles will play Mexico’s Monterrey in April. The Seattle
Sounders face Mexico’s Santos Laguna in the other semifinal.
