Kenji Christian - Out with hamstring Christian (hamstring) did not play during Saturday's 42-41 loss to Syracuse, per Andy Close of The Bristol Press.

Impact Christian was held out against Syracuse due to a hamstring injury, marking his first missed game of the season. The 6-foot-1 running back had previously run for 153 yards and a touchdown on 4.1 YPC through UConn's first four games while adding seven receptions for 75 yards and a score through the air as well. Steve Angeli - Sitting out Saturday Angeli (undisclosed) is out for Saturday's game at UConn, Syracuse play-by-play announcer reports.

Impact Head coach Fran Brown is starting Amari Odom at quarterback Saturday, noting that Angeli has taken a lot of hits in the last few games. It's unclear if this decision is solely injury related though as Angeli threw five interceptions across his last two games. It's currently unclear who will be the starter moving forward beyond this week.

Impact It is unknown why exactly Odom is starting over Angeli, whether it is because of an injury or Syracuse preferring to start the former under center. In small doses, Odom has shown promise, with nine completions on 10 pass attempts for 56 yards and a touchdown with this year's Orange. The question is whether he can replicate his previous success in a greater setting and with a bigger sample size. Though it may be a temporary endeavor, Odom will look to prove he has what it takes by excelling against the independent UConn.
