E. Jai Mason - Quiet night in loss Mason totaled four receptions (on eight targets) for 24 yards during Thursday's 28-17 loss versus Rice.

Impact After a career game last week against Monmouth, posting 228 yards, Mason struggled to produce against Rice. The senior is the 49ers' leading receiver this season, but has really only had one great game and will now have to switch quarterbacks as starter Conner Harrell left Thursday's game with a leg injury.

Javen Nicholas - Scores first touchdown in loss Nicholas tallied five receptions (on eight targets) for 93 yards and one touchdown during Thursday's 28-17 defeat to Rice.

Impact Nicholas put up another strong performance Thursday night and is now averaging 87 yards per game over the last three weeks. The LSU transfer will now have to develop chemistry with backup quarterback Grayson Loftis, as starter Conner Harrell is out with a leg injury.

Grayson Loftis - Takes over at quarterback Loftis completed 15 of 31 passes for 186 yards and one touchdown during Thursday's 28-17 loss versus Rice. He also had nine rushes for -35 yards.

Impact Loftis was inconsistent Thursday night after replacing Conner Harrell, who left the game with a leg injury in the second quarter. The Duke transfer did throw a touchdown pass, but also got sacked six times. With Harrell's status up in the air, Loftis will be the 49ers' starting quarterback for the foreseeable future.

Conner Harrell - Helped off the field Harrell (leg) completed eight of 13 passes for 73 yards during Thursday's 28-17 defeat to Rice. He also had three rushes for 22 yards.

Impact After what was the best performance of his career last week against Monmouth, Harrell had to be helped off the field with a leg injury in the second quarter. The severity of the injury is still unknown as he is getting an MRI, and Grayson Loftis will take his place at quarterback until he is healthy.

Drayden Dickmann - Finds end zone in win Dickmann reeled in four of six targets for 39 yards and one touchdown during Thursday's 28-17 victory versus Charlotte.

Impact Dickmann recorded his first touchdown of the season Thursday night, on what was only the second receiving touchdown of the season for Rice. The sophomore is quarterback Chase Jenkins' favorite target as he is the only wide receiver over 100 yards on the year, but it is still tough for him to produce some weeks in a very run-heavy offense.

Daelen Alexander - Scores twice in win Alexander notched 10 carries for 73 yards and two touchdowns during Thursday's 28-17 win against Charlotte.

Impact Alexander found the end zone for the first time this season, recording his third career multi-touchdown performance and first touchdown since 2023. The Texas native seems to be Quinton Jackson's backup, but is still getting his fair share of carries, averaging over 10 per game in what is a very run-heavy offense.

Quinton Jackson - Efficient on the ground in win Jackson accrued 12 rushes for 80 yards during Thursday's 28-17 win against Charlotte.

Impact Jackson had another productive game Thursday night, averaging 6.7 yards per carry, which is his highest mark of the season. His carries have gone down a little over the last two games, but he is still leading all running backs in touches and producing like a starter.
