Hunter Smith - Agrees to join Temple Smith announced via social media that he has committed to joining Temple for the 2025 season.

Impact Smith missed all of the 2024 season for unknown reasons after he was poised to be the lead back for the ULM. The last time the junior running back played he totaled 94 carries for 507 yards and three touchdowns across 12 games during the 2023 campaign.

Gevani McCoy - Joining the Owls McCoy has announced his commitment to Temple, Pete Nakos of On3.com reports.

Impact McCoy will make the move to Temple after appearing with the Beavers last season. The 6-foot redshirt junior, who started his collegiate career with Idaho, threw for 1,300 yards (123-of-202), three touchdowns and six interceptions with Oregon State last season, adding on 328 yards and five scores on the ground. McCoy will look to compete for the starting job with Temple this offseason.

Jay Ducker - Handles 21 carries in spring game Ducker tallied 66 yards on 21 carries during Temple's spring game, Sienna Conaghan of The Temple News reports.

Impact In what figures to be a run-heavy system for the Owls this season, Ducker continues to position himself as the lead back for Temple. The 5-foot-10 graduate transfer from Sam Houston (previously Memphis and NIU), tallied 158 carries for 745 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground, along with 15 receptions for 110 yards through the air with the Bearkats last season.

Terrez Worthy - Sidelined for spring ball Worthy (undisclosed) has been sidelined from Temple's spring practices due to injury, John DiCarlo of 247Sports.com reports.

Impact Worthy continues to work his way back from an undisclosed offseason injury as the Owls progress through their spring workouts. The 5-foot-11 junior, who tallied 490 total yards and six touchdowns on 95 total touches, is expected to return in time for preseason camp this summer.

Terrez Worthy - Not working with top backs Worthy was not working with the top backs in the early portion of spring practice, according to Rivals.com.

Impact Jay Ducker and Joquez Smith were listed as the top backs, so it's unclear the kind of role Worthy will have in the 2025 campaign. He saw a lot of carries in the second half of the 2024 season, though, tallying 72 rushes for 369 yards and four scores, as well as 15 catches for 54 yards on 21 targets, in his final seven appearances.

Joquez Smith - Working among top backs Smith is working among the top backs in spring practice, according to Rivals.com.

Impact Smith didn't have his best season in 2024, as he rushed just 36 times for 132 yards and a touchdown across 12 appearances. However, the fact that he's working among the top backs in the early portion of the spring suggests that he should have a bigger role in 2025 as long as he stays healthy.

Jay Ducker - Operating as top-two RB Ducker is operating as one of Temple's top-two running backs for the spring, John Di Carlo of Rivals.com reports.

Impact Ducker has transferred from a CUSA team to an AAC team, which is expected to have a more rigorous conference schedule, insisting questions on how much of a valuable role he will have with Temple after his excellent 2024 for Sam Houston. Di Carlo's update suggests the running back may get a similar role with TU, though that is not for sure. Ducker and Joquez Smith operated as a Temple practice's top-two running backs, and it may be too early to rule out Terrez Worthy being an excellent option for carries.

Ian Stewart - Limited but in pads Stewart (quadriceps) is limited but in pads for Temple's spring practice, John Di Carlo of Rivals.com reports.

Impact Back in late-August, Stewart underwent quadriceps surgery that ended his 2024 season before it could even begin. Fast forward more than half a year later, and he has yet to fully recover from the injury. At the very least, Stewart is making progress, which suggests he could be available when Temple's team logs its spring game on April 12.
