Impact After spending three seasons at Division II Shepherd University, Dorner made an instant impact on the Mean Green offense Saturday, leading the team in yards and receptions. He seems to already have good chemistry with quarterback Drew Mestemaker, a connection that is only going to get better throughout the season.

Drew Mestemaker - Four total touchdowns in opener Mestemaker was 24-for-32 passing for 329 yards and three touchdowns during Saturday's 51-0 win against Lamar. He also had five rushes for 30 yards with one touchdown.
Impact After winning the starting job over Reese Poffenbarger, Mestemaker cemented that spot Saturday, recording four total touchdowns. The former walk-on had a strong showing in the First Responder Bowl last season and was able to pick up right where he left off, taking command of what could have been a crazy quarterback situation this year.

Impact The wideout was reportedly working his way back from an injury late in fall camp, one that appears to have bled into the regular season. Sides, who caught 24 passes for 280 yards and one touchdown last season with the Mean Green, was expected to be a significant part of this passing attack. However, his next chance to play will come in Week 2 on the road against Western Michigan.
