Cameron Seldon - DNP Week 1 Seldon (undisclosed) did not play during South Florida's Week 1 matchup against Florida International.

Impact Seldon was held out due to an undisclosed injury, delaying his USF debut. The 6-foot-1 senior transferred in from Virginia Tech in the offseason, where he caught 23 passes for 165 yards and two touchdowns a year ago. His next chance to return will come against Army next Saturday.

James Resar - Catches TD Resar caught three passes for 31 yards and a touchdown against South Florida on Saturday.

Impact In 2024, Resar was buried down the QB depth chart at Iowa, so he made the move to receiver. He went down to the FCS level, and now he's back in FBS football and a tight end. And he has his first FBS touchdown as well.

Kyle McNeal - Tallies five catches McNeal caught five passes for 44 yards against USF on Saturday.

Impact McNeal was thought of as being in the mix to be a top-two teceiver for the Panthers, and it seems like there is a battle here. Three FIU players had four or five receptions for 43 or 44 yards, and Maguire Anderson had eight catches for 87 yards. The receiving depth chart feels muddled right now, but with promise.

Impact Anderson only had 25 catches for 280 yards last season, but FIU has a new quarterback in JJ Kohl. Maybe Kohl and Anderson have developed a connection that could benefit the receiver this season.

Anthony Carrie - Rushes for 31 yards Carrie ran 10 times for 31 yards Saturday against South Florida.

Impact Kejon Owens got the bulk of the carries and had over 1,000 yards for FIU last season, so with him no longer around there was an opening for somebody to step up. Carrie got 10 carries, but Devonte Lyons had eight. Neither back separated himself from the other in Week 1.

JJ Kohl - Sloppy first start for FIU Kohl went 31-for-50 for 301 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions against South Florida on Saturday. He also ran six times for 31 yards and lost a fumble.

Impact Well this game was rich in incident for Kohl, though three turnovers is definitely a problem. However, turnovers were not an issue for Kohl last season with Appalachian State, as in eight games he had 13 touchdowns against three turnovers.
