Coit scores 37 as Northern Illinois defeats Buffalo 78-68
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — David Coit's 37 points led Northern Illinois past Buffalo 78-68 on Friday night.
Coit had six assists for the Huskies (11-20, 5-13 Mid-American Conference). Zion Russell scored 14 points while going 4 of 9 from the floor, including 2 for 5 from 3-point range, and 4 for 4 from the line and added six rebounds and three steals. Harvin Ibarguen had 12 points and shot 6 of 7 from the field.
The Bulls (4-27, 2-16) were led in scoring by Ryan Sabol, who finished with 22 points. Jonnivius Smith added 10 points and seven rebounds for Buffalo. Shawn Fulcher also recorded eight points and five assists.
Coit scored 20 points in the second half to help lead Northern Illinois to a 10-point victory.
