Alshon Jeffery receiving treatment for injured hamstring this week

Published Dec. 22, 2015 11:15 a.m. ET

Chicago Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery is one of the NFL's most talented pass-catchers, but injuries have seriously sapped his production this season. He left Sunday's blowout loss to the Minnesota Vikings with one catch for a 10-yard touchdown and a hamstring injury.

With a matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers up next, Jeffery is receiving treatment for his injured hamstring this week.

Via Rich Campbell of the Chicago Tribune:

Jeffery has been dealing with calf, hamstring and groin injuries all season, dating back to training camp. He has missed a total of five games this year, leaving the Bears without a viable No. 1 receiver.

When healthy enough to take the field, though, Jeffery has been a force. He has eclipsed 100 receiving yards in four different games and is averaging an impressive 14.9 yards per game in 2015.
