Ovince Saint Preux vs. Patrick Cummins added to FOX UFC Fight Night in New Jersey
Two of the top 15 light heavyweights in the world will square off in April as Ovince Saint Preux faces Patrick Cummins at the upcoming FOX UFC Fight Night card in Newark, New Jersey.
UFC officials confirmed the fight on Wednesday.
Saint Preux (17-6) returns to action following the biggest win of his career when he finished former UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua in just :34 seconds when the two fighters met last November.
Since coming to the UFC from Strikeforce, Saint Preux has gone 5-1 overall with his only loss courtesy of Ryan Bader two fights ago.
Hoping to add a second loss to Saint Preux’s UFC record is former All-American wrestler from Penn State, Patrick Cummins (7-1), who is riding a three fight winning streak after losing in his Octagon debut to Daniel Cormier.
Cummins has proven to be worthy of a spot in the UFC after putting together a trio of impressive victories including wins over Kyle Kingsbury as well as Ultimate Fighter Brazil winner Antonio Carlos Junior.
Saint Preux vs. Cummins is the latest addition to the FOX UFC Fight Night card taking place on April 18 headlined by middleweight contenders Luke Rockhold and Lyoto Machida, who meet in the five round main event.
