Wisconsin-Maryland pregame notes

Here are some notes, tidbits and stats heading for Saturday's game between the Wisconsin Badgers and Maryland Terrapins:

-- This is the 2nd meeting between Wisconsin and Maryland. The Badgers won the only meeting between the two teams last year, 52-7 in Madison.

-- Under Paul Chryst this season, Wisconsin is 6-1 when scoring first, 1-1 when the opponent scores first, 5-1 when leading after the first quarter, 1-1 when trailing after the first quarter, 6-0 when leading at halftime, 1-2 when trailing at halftime, 6-0 when leading after the third quarter and 1-2 when trailing after the third quarter.

-- A Badgers tight end hasn't had a 100-yard receiving game since Lance Kendricks did it in back-to-back weeks in 2010 vs. Arizona State on Sept. 18 and Austin Peay on Sept. 25, a 73-game drought.

-- From 1990-2014, Wisconsin was 0-23-1 when attempting 35 or more passes. This year, the Badgers are 4-2 with 35+ pass attempts.

-- Corey Clement needs 84 rushing yards to pass Dave Mohapp for 20th place, 88 to pass Larry Canada for 19th place and 141 to pass Brooks Bollinger for 18th place on UW's all-time list.

-- Joel Stave had had 23 games in which he has thrown at least 19 passes. In those 23, he has thrown at least one interception in 17 of them.

-- Stave will be making his 38th start for Wisconsin, which will tie Mike Samuel for 3rd place on UW's all-time starts at QB list.

-- With his next win, Stave will tie John Stocco for 2nd place on UW's all-time wins as a starting quarterback list (with 29).

-- Stave needs 26 passing yards to become the fifth Badgers quarterback with multiple 2,000-yard passing seasons.

-- Stave needs 306 passing yards to pass John Stocco for 2nd place on UW's all-time list.

-- Stave needs 1 passing touchdown to tie and 2 to pass John Stocco for 2nd place on UW's all-time list.

-- Stave needs 6 pass attempts to pass John Stocco for 2nd place on UW's all-time list.

-- Stave needs 12 completions to pass Randy Wright (1982) for 10th place, 20 to pass Mike Howard (1984) for 9th place and 25 to pass Darrell Bevell (1993) for 8th place on UW's all-time single-season list.

-- Stave needs 32 pass attempts to tie and 33 to pass Darrell Bevell for 10th place on UW's all-time single-season list.

-- Stave needs 26 passing yards to pass John Stocco (2004) for 14th place, 154 to pass Mike Howard (184) for 13th place, 212 to pass John Stocco (2006) for 12th place, 278 to pass Jim Sorgi (2003) for 11th place, 299 to pass Darrell Bevell (1995) for 10th place, 319 to pass Randy Wright (1982) for 9th place and 359 to pass Randy Wright (1983) for 8th place on UW's all-time single-season list.

-- Alex Erickson needs 178 receiving yards to pass Jonathan Orr for 11th place on UW's all-time list.

-- Erickson needs 5 receptions to tie and 6 to pass Chris Chambers for 7th place and 9 to tie Al Toon for 6th place on UW's all-time list.

-- Erickson needs 25 receiving yards to pass himself (2014) for 16th place, 58 yards to pass Nick Toon (2009) for 15th place, 66 to pass Chris Chambers (2000) for 14th place, 70 to pass Pat Richter (1961) for 13th place, 90 to pass Jared Abbrederis (2012) for 12th place, 95 to pass Jonathan Orr (2002) for 11th place and 134 to pass Al Toon (1983) for 10th place on UW's all-time single-season list.

Erickson needs 1 receptions to tie and 2 to pass Brandon Williams (2005) for 7th place, 3 to tie and 4 to pass Travis Beckum (2006) for 6th place and 6 to tie and 7 to pass Lee Evans (2003) and Nick Toon (2011) for 4th place on UW's all-time single-season list.

-- Joe Schobert needs 2.5 tackles for loss to tie Tim Jordan, O'Brien Schofield and Nick Greisen for 14th and 3.5 to tie Gary Casper for 13th place on UW's all-time list.

-- Schobert needs 1.5 sacks to tie DeAndr6e Levy for 12th place and 2 to tie Matt Shaughnessy for 11th place on UW's all-time list.

-- Schobert needs .5 sacks to tie Bryan Jurewicz (1996) and Mike Thompson (1993) for 7th place, 1.5 to tie Tim Jordan (1985) and Darryl Sims (1982) for 5th place and 2.5 to tie Tarek Saleh (1995) and O'Brien Schofield (2009) for 3rd place on UW's all-time single-season list.

-- Schobert needs 1 forced fumble to tie and 2 to pass Erasmus James for 2nd place on UW's all-time list.

-- Schobert needs 1 forced fumble to tie and 2 to pass Chris Borland (2009 & 2011) for 1st place on UW's all-time single-season list.

-- Vince Biegel needs .5 sacks to tie DeAndre Levy for 12th place and 1 sack to tie and 1.5 to pass Matt Shaughnessy for 11th place on UW's all-time list.

-- Rafael Gaglianone needs 1 field goal to tie and 2 to pass Matt Davenport for 6th place on UW's all-time list.

-- Gaglianone needs 1 field-goal attempt to pass Vitaly Pisetsky for 7th place on UW's all-time list.

-- Gaglianone needs 1 extra-point attempt to tie and 2 to pass Kyle French for 6th place on UW's all-time list.

-- Gaglianone needs one more 50+-yard field goal to join Taylor Mehlhaff and Philip Welch as the only to have three FGs from 50+ in Wisconsin history (Mehlhaff 52, 51, 51; Welch 57, 52, 50; Gaglianone 51, 50).
