Sweet, I scored a game-winning goal on a header! Wait, I play hockey
Travis Zajac might never want to score a goal again after netting the most painful one of his career on Saturday night.
The New Jersey Devils forward scored the go-ahead goal against the New York Islanders with 6:57 remaining in the third period as he deflected a Marek Zidlicky slap shot off his face and into the back of the net. Zajac's seventh goal of the season provided the difference in New Jersey's 2-1 win, and is one he probably won't be forgetting anytime soon as he should be left with a heck of a reminder on the side of his head.
Zajac, of course, returned to the game after using his head in a very literal sense. If you're going to take a puck to the face, you may as well get a goal out of it.
