Steven Stamkos: 'Nothing is going right, right now'

The Tampa Bay Lightning are on the brink of elimination, and they also sound like a very frustrated team. Their first-round opponent, the Detroit Red Wings, have done a great job of shutting down Tampa's potent offense, especially Lightning star and team captain Steven Stamkos.

Stamkos is tied for the team lead in shots (17) after five games, but he has nothing to show for it as he remains scoreless in the playoffs.

"Nothing is going right, right now," Stamkos told the media after Tampa's Game 5 loss. "As long as I continue to compete, hopefully (things) change. It (stinks) to be going through something like this at this time of year when your team needs you."

Stamkos isn't the only Lightning player struggling to score, though. The team went nearly 10 minutes without a shot to start the second period of Game 5, and they ended up getting shut out for the second time this series.

Tampa now faces a do-or-die Game 6 on Monday night.
