Staff changes coming in Pittsburgh?

Published May. 15, 2015 1:26 p.m. ET

Most of the front office staff that was inherited by GM Jim Rutherford is still employed by the Pittsburgh Penguins. With a number of jobs open or opening league-wide, that may not remain the case for long.

When the off-season began, Rutherford indicated that he did not intend to make any significant changes to his staff. With the hiring of Ray Shero to take over for Lou Lamoriello in New Jersey, he may be looking to bring on some of his former employees. John Hynes, Head Coach of the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins is going to get some attention for his services. In addition to all of that, Penguins Assistant GM Bill Guerin may be considered a hot commodity as well.

Despite unknown destinations for a number of employees, Jim Rutherford may soon have his work cut out for him far beyond just the typical player-personnel decisions.
