College goalie distracted by fans, allows horrifying goal to lose in OT

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 11:22 p.m. ET

Last Friday wasn’t the greatest day to be Keegan McHenry.

The Utah State goaltender failed to notice that play had resumed during an overtime game, and the result was a loss to the University of Denver and a heavy dose of embarrassment for McHenry.

With his Aggies on the power play, the faceoff in the opposite end and just 15 seconds left on the clock, McHenry skated toward the side boards to converse with some fans. He was extremely late getting back to his crease, though, allowing Denver defenseman Robert Biedron to light the lamp from roughly 200 feet away and give the Pioneers a 4-3 win.

Sorry, kid.
