Chicago Blackhawks Morning Links- Hossa Saves The Day

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! The Chicago Blackhawks rebounded from their mini losing streak to dominate the Arizona Coyotes in a 4-0 victory on Tuesday night.

The Chicago Blackhawks played a game no one is very familiar with the past few weeks which they got a lead and then dominated the game from start to finish while skating away with a pretty stress free victory.

The first goal of the game was a really pretty goal with Patrick Kane on the powerplay putting a perfect pass on Artem Anisimov‘s stick and all #15 had to do was keep his stick on the ice, and the puck easily slipped through Mike Smith.

Then Marian Hossa took over with a breakout pass that ended up with Hossa barely staying onside and then doing a nice soccer kick play before he put the puck in the back of the net behind Smith.

The Chicago Blackhawks defense may have been the headliner of the night.  They shut down the Coyotes offense, and they limited them to only 22 shots.  Granted Scott Darling had to be up to the task, and he stopped every one of those shots, but the defense wasn’t leaving him high and dry on those shots.  The shots were not top notch chances from point blank range, they were from distance most of the night.

Hossa did score late in the third period for his 14th goal of the season, and that goal through 27 games is a higher total than he had last season when he played in 64 games.  Hossa has found the fountain of youth this season, and the Hawks losing in the first round of the playoffs last season seems to have put life back in Hossa’s skates.

The Hawks won easily which was nice last night, and here are some morning links to kick off your Wednesday.
