Udonis Haslem: 'We've got as good a chance to win the East as anybody'
The Miami Heat aren't lacking for confidence going into the 2015-16 season. And after the offseason they had, can you really blame them?
First, Chris Bosh let it be known that the Heat are as good as anybody in the league next season. Now, Udonis Haslem is joining the party. In a recent Q&A with Hot Hot Hoops, Haslem cut directly to the point on how Miami shapes up:
"We've got as good a chance to win the East as anybody," Haslem said when asked how far he thinks the Heat can go next season.
As for Haslem's recent comments that Kevin Garnett is something of a fake tough guy, the Heat Lifer didn't back down:
"I wasn't the only person who had that opinion. If somebody had asked me how good he is as a player, he's a great player. He'll go down as probably one of the greatest power forwards that ever played the game. It's not the question that was asked."
And can you ask for anything more from an interview subject? Haslem didn't stray from the original question about Garnett. He didn't let his view of Garnett as a player cloud his answer. He gave his honest opinion on the question that was asked. No more, no less.
The lesson in both of these responses, as well as the rest of Haslem's answers to the questions posed, is that he will answer the question he is asked directly, succinctly and honestly. So if you want him to answer a specific question, ask that question specifically. Otherwise, Haslem is going to answer the question you asked.
