Report: Watson divorcing actress wife after alleged attack

Published Aug. 11, 2010 1:00 a.m. ET

NBA veteran guard Earl Watson has filed for divorce from his wife Jennifer Freeman, claiming the "My Wife and Kids" actress attacked him with an iron and bit him on the chest until he bled, gossip website TMZ reported late Wednesday.

According to legal papers, Watson claimed that on Aug. 1 he was looking at Freeman's phone because he was suspicious about a message she'd received at 11:00 p.m. and she flew into a rage.

Watson, who played for the Indiana Pacers last season, said Freeman, "grabbed my wrist and bit ... breaking the skin, leaving teeth marks and drawing blood."

He added she also bit his chest before attempting to attack him with an iron, which he knocked out of her hand.

Watson is also seeking full custody of their 10-month-old daughter, the report said.
