Report: Thomas Robinson sustains 'small meniscus tear'
The Nets just signed Thomas Robinson, but the bad news didn't take quickly to follow.
From the ever brilliant Fred Katz of Bleacher Report and FOX Sports:
Thomas Robinson sustained a "small meniscus tear" and will undergo arthroscopic surgery Wednesday, the #Nets have announced.

There is no timetable on Robinson's return for now, but arthroscopic surgery on the meniscus can have a quick recovery, depending on the severity of the injury.
If Robinson can't go at the start of the year, this hurts the Nets' depth not only in terms of Robinson, but also in other aspects. Brooklyn just waived Cory Jefferson Monday, as predicted since his contract would have been fully guaranteed had he lasted on the roster until later in the week.
The signing of Andrea Bargnani, even though it was just for a minimum deal, now becomes slightly more important. And that's a sentence which should scare the heck out of any team. Brooklyn also recently signed Willie Reed, who is playing for the team during summer league, to a one-year deal with a $500,000 partial guarantee. So, maybe Reed ends up playing a bumped up role from what we expected.
