The 35-year-old veteran big man will join a Spurs team that is coming off a franchise-best record of 67-15. However, San Antonio could be without one of their mainstay players in Tim Duncan, who is reportedly leaning strongly toward retiring.
In 72 games with the Chicago Bulls last year, Gasol averaged 16.5 points and 11.0 rebounds. Chicago failed to reach the playoffs this past season, while the Spurs were eliminated in the second round by the Oklahoma City Thunder.
