The Nets will not make a qualifying offer to third-string center Jerome Jordan, according to a report from NetsDaily.

Just because Brooklyn isn't making him a qualifying offer doesn't mean he won't return to wearing black and white next season. He just won't become a restricted free agent. From the NetsDaily report:

Jordan, who played in 44 regular season games and one in the playoffs, was eligible for a $1.147 million qualifying offer. It had to be made by the end of June but, as Devin Kharpertian first reported yesterday -- and NetsDaily confirmed -- the Nets have decided against the move. A league source told NetsDaily the decision was made to eliminate a cap hold on Jordan, reducing the team's salary cap commitments. Teams will often renounce their rights to a player without an announcement.

The Nets have said they intend to make a qualifying offer of $4.2 million to Mirza Teletovic, making him a restricted free agent, meaning the team can match any offer made by other teams.

The 28-year-old Jordan averaged 3.1 points and 2.4 rebounds in 8.7 minutes a night during 2014-15, his first season with the Nets.
