Report: Jarrett Jack (hamstring) might not play on opening night

Jarrett Jack went from being an important part of the Nets to an essential one this offseason when Brooklyn got rid of Deron Williams and handed the starting point-guard position to the man who was just a backup a season ago. Now, Jack has the reigns to the team, but it appears he may not be starting the race on time.
Here's more from Devin Kharpertian of The Brooklyn Game:
Jack's injury doesn't appear to be too serious, but hamstring injuries tend to linger. Just ask the shooting guard for the other New York team, Arron Afflalo, exactly how his experience with hamstring issues has been this preseason.
Missing Jack is a big deal for the Nets, who have one of the shallowest point-guard rotations in the NBA. In his absence, Shane Larkin is likely to get the start with Donald Sloan acting as his direct backup. Those are probably two No. 3-caliber point guards, not the kids you want running your offense. But the Nets, unfortunately, may not have a choice in the matter.
Brooklyn Nets guard Jarrett Jack’s status for opening night is in doubt after missing his fourth straight practice with a sore left hamstring.
Jack was also diagnosed with a sore left hamstring this past February, which rendered him inactive for five days.
The Nets open Wednesday night at Barclays Center against the Chicago Bulls, and Jack has been penciled in as the team’s starter. But with Jack on the mend, Hollins would likely have to turn to one of Shane Larkin or Donald Sloan to fill the void.
