Report: Corey Brewer wants a long-term contract

Corey Brewer saved Houston's season. In Game 6 of the Western Conference semifinals, he helped lead a miraculous fourth-quarter comeback against the Los Angeles Clippers. It was an amazing performance on both ends of the floor.

For his efforts (Brewer averaged over 11 points per game throughout the postseason), the 29-year-old rightfully wants some long-term security.

It all depends on how much money we're talking about, but the Rockets may not be willing to bring back Brewer on a deal lasting longer than a season or two. He's nearing 30 years old, can't shoot threes and will soon be a defensive liability (if he's not already).

Much of Brewer's success is due to his outstanding athleticism, and once that goes he doesn't have the technical skills to continue on as a consistent NBA player. This will be an interesting contract negotiation.
