Report: Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas signs with Nike

The Boston Celtics have no All-Stars on their team, but their backup point guard, Isaiah Thomas, might be closest. Thomas is an offensive dynamo, one of the toughest ball-handlers to defend in the entire league.

He can finish at the rim, shoot threes and does a fantastic job running pick-and-rolls and drawing fouls. He's a nightmare, and a particularly exciting one at that.

Even though Thomas is only 5'9", his ability to embarrass guys who're a foot taller is impressive. Enough so to catch Nike's eye.

Thomas is only 26 years old and should spend the next few years of his career with the Celtics, a marketable franchise that will keep his name in the spotlight. It's a solid move for both parties.
