Report: Cavaliers showing interest in Jamal Crawford

Published Jul. 7, 2015 1:26 p.m. ET

The Clippers don't have many options to improve at center after DeAndre Jordan left for the Mavericks.

There isn't much on the free-agent market anymore, and the team is right up against the cap. Plus, Doc Rivers has left just about no assets on the roster. Working a trade seems difficult.

One guy the team can deal, though, is Jamal Crawford, who became a little more expendable after the Clips acquired Lance Stephenson from the Charlotte Hornets for Matt Barnes and Spencer Hawes. Now, ESPN's Chris Broussard says the Cavaliers are interested in the two-time Sixth Man of the Year:

If the Clippers were to get Brendan Haywood and the $10.5 million non-guaranteed contract he has for next season, they would likely use that contract to flip to a team trying to shed dollars for a starting-caliber center. However, not many squads fit that description. We'll see if it works.
