Philly works out six second-round prospects
The Philadelphia 76ers have an incredible five draft picks in this year's second round. It's unlikely they use all of them, but that sort of collection is still impressive, and means the team's front office has a lot of work cut out for them.
Thousands of hours of game film has likely already been watched, but the team now has to conduct individual and team workouts. On Tuesday, they brought in six prospects. Here's more on how it went, courtesy of SB Nation's 76ers blog Liberty Ballers:
"Among those in attendance were St. John's guard Phil Green IV, NC State guard Trevor Lacey, Harvard swingman Wesley Saunders, Syracuse big man Rakeem Christmas, Iona big man David Laury and Michigan State guard Travis Trice. While the Tuesday following Memorial Day is typically the start date for many NBA teams' pre-draft workouts, the Sixers have already worked out over 20 prospects dating back to the beginning of May. The earliest Sixers workout Liberty Ballers has learned about was held on May 8."
Philadelphia is doing its due diligence, gauging as many players as it can before draft day arrives. It's highly unlikely they keep all five of their second-round picks, but information is still power, and the Sixers are gathering as much of it as they can.
