Milwaukee Bucks: Player Power Rankings (Jan. 26-Feb. 1)

It was far from the best week the Milwaukee Bucks have had this season, but we’ll still take a look at our weekly player power rankings to see who the movers and shakers are this week.

As shown in the record above, this was not a pretty week for the Bucks. The team struggled to get anything going on offense and without major scoring outbursts from Giannis Antetokounmpo, there isn’t much of a team identity. On top of that, the defense floundered.

The tweet of the week is not one of a glorious dunk this time around, but a graph showing where the Milwaukee Bucks stand in terms of giving up three-point looks from the corner. As you can see, the team ranks dead-last in this category, and it has been even more of a factor in this recent skid (losses in nine of 10 games) by the Bucks.

Right now the Bucks find themselves right in the middle of the races between making the playoffs and sitting in the top portion of the lottery. As for which place you would rather be at the end of the season, that is solely personal preference. Hopefully the Bucks get back a healthy Khris Middleton soon to shoulder some offensive weight as well as help the defense get a little less lost on the perimeter.

Nonetheless, there is a lot of season left to go, so without further ado, let’s hop into this week’s edition of the player rankings.

Henson was last on the team in total minutes (second place was Plumlee and Teletovic at 15 minutes) and it was not really all that close. Now with Monroe and Thon (Plumlee too…maybe…we’ll get there) in front of him in the depth chart, it will be interesting to see what happens with Henson for the rest of the season in terms of minutes, production, and (dare I say it?) trade talk.

Jason Kidd is known to prefer a two-center system, so where both Plumlee and Henson end up is extremely high up in the air.

His overall scoring has nearly been cut in half from a year ago, even though he is only receiving five less minutes per game. There is still time this season for Mirza to find his role on the team, but right now, he is buried pretty far down the depth chart.

With Khris Middleton hopefully returning soon, Vaughn will likely get pushed to receiving zero minutes, but at least Vaughn is having a slightly better season than a year ago.

Terry is a solid role player who is hopefully providing some stability in a treacherous spot for this young Bucks squad.

When Beasley is hitting, he is a very valuable asset, as he can make up for some of the points the team is missing when either JP or GA is on the bench.

The 10th overall pick in the year’s draft is looking like he can do some damage in the second half of the season, especially when already paired with the young duo of Giannis and Jabari.

As a rookie and a veteran (somehow) on the team, Brogdon can hopefully help to bridge the gap between both groups of players on the team to get the Bucks back to their winning ways.

Jabari is clearly one of the stars on this team, and they will need him to pick things back up again to get some wins.

Can Greg Monroe be the guy to get the Bucks back on track? More than likely it will be the next guy in the rankings, but Moose can play a very big role in turning the team’s losses into wins.

This was not the best set of games from the Greek Freak and seemingly teams are starting to figure out how to cover him, but every time this has happened in the past, Giannis has just added another something special to his game that makes an even more versatile player. It won’t be long before he is terrorizing defenses to over 20 points in every game again.
