Michael Jordan is the 1,577th richest person on Earth

Forbes released its annual ranking of billionaires this week, and basketball legend Michael Jordan's 2016 net worth of $1.1 billion placed him 1,577th on a list of the richest people in the world. Among American billionaires, Jordan is 486th.

Jordan made his first appearance on the list in 2015, and according to Forbes' numbers his personal fortune has grown by 100 million (which happens to be the amount he earns annually from the incredibly popular Jordan brand).

Jordan is last among sports executives that made the list. Steve Ballmer is the richest American team owner in sports ($23.5 billion), followed by Paul Allen ($17.5 billion).

Bill Gates topped the overall list with a worth of $75 billion. You can see the full ranking here.
