Mavs C Dampier has arthroscopic left knee surgery

Mavericks center Erick Dampier has undergone arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.

The procedure was performed Tuesday by Dr. T.O. Souryal.

Various ailments, including the balky knee, limited Dampier to 55 games this season. It was his fewest since he played 43 games for Golden State in 2000-01.

Dampier averaged 6.0 points and 7.3 rebounds in the sixth year of a seven-year, $73 million contract with Dallas.
