Just days after 52-point outburst, Hawks release Austin Daye

Apparently the Atlanta Hawks weren't all that impressed by Austin Daye dropping 52 points in his first game of the summer at the Drew League in Los Angeles.

Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the Hawks have waived Daye this week among a flurry of roster moves that included the re-signing of Paul Millsap and the trade for the San Antonio Spurs' Tiago Splitter becoming official.

Daye had signed a contract with Atlanta in April after appearing for the Hawks on consecutive 10-day contracts, but the deal was non-guaranteed, according to Vivlamore.
