AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) Joe Dumars is staying quiet.

Detroit's president of basketball operations and Hall of Famer player declined to be interviewed Friday night before the Bad Boys were celebrated.

Dumars did not address the crowd when the 1989 NBA champions were honored at halftime of a game against the Miami Heat. His job seems to be in jeopardy with the franchise likely to miss the playoffs for a fifth straight year.

Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas spoke for his teammates during the short ceremony, saying the team overcame a lot of obstacles to win the first of two straight titles.

Dennis Rodman was conspicuously absent because he planned to play in an exhibition game this weekend in Argentina.
