Jimmy Butler zings DeAndre Jordan for wanting to play like WNBA MVP Elena Delle Donne
Some of the greatest basketball players on the planet are gathered in Rio, as both the United States Men's and Women's National Teams are demolishing opponents on their way to gold medals.
You know the stars on the men's team, but you might not be as familiar with the fantastic players who make up the women's team. Breanna Stewart, Brittney Griner, Lindsay Whalen and, of course, WNBA MVP Elena Delle Donne — they're all otherworldly talents that NBA players wish they could emulate.
Take Jimmy Butler and DeAndre Jordan, for example. Earlier this week, the two gave a highly amusing interview where they talked about their WNBA counterparts.
Butler wants to be like Sue Bird, the veteran point guard who turns opponents' heads with her ridiculous no-look passes. Jordan, on the other hand, apparently wishes that he were a completely different type of player — like EDD.
I wanna be like Sue! @JimmyButler & @deandrejordan6 sound off on #USABWNT's @S10Bird @De11eDonne & @bre_stewart30! https://t.co/EA7oFUVCVl

You get a sense of the humor from the transcript, but really, you have to watch the video. Butler's having none of Jordan's efforts to break out of his box as a center. The Bulls wing doesn't care that the Clippers big man is speaking hypothetically; Butler insists on keeping this conversation grounded, dammit.
Quick aside: Really, Jimmy? You're going to say Jordan's like Stewie? She's the most complete player on the planet. Yes, she and Jordan both protect the rim, but he's not a 3-point shooter. She is. Anyway ...
Someone get those two a comedy show immediately, please, because you can't fake that kind of chemistry. Now, if only the Clippers could figure out a way to pry Butler out of the hellscape he'll experience in Chicago next year, fighting for touches with Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo. You know, for Butler's sake.
