Jimmy Butler, Doug McDermott Play Mini-Golf in Mexico
Jimmy Butler and Doug McDermott’s adventures in Mexico continued with a game of mini-golf. Butler now has an alter-ego: Rory BlackIlroy.
Jimmy Butler’s good friend Mark Wahlberg played in a movie with A-lister Will Ferrell titled The Other Guys back in 2010.
Maybe “Marky Mark” can squeeze Butler into a potential sequel of the film with his workout partner this summer: Doug McDermott.
First, it was Butler and McDermott working on their lateral quickness with a personal trainer on a beach in Mexico. Now, attacking the aspect of patience … on the mini-golf course.
Next up on the tee box: Rory BlackIlroy, played by Jimmy Butler.

OK, two things here:
To borrow a phrase from our friends over at SB Nation’s Blog a Bull, Butler’s “leadering” wasn’t great last season. But, even just in silly situations like this, you can see Butler in a different element. He’s having fun with a teammate in another country and just enjoying some time off after winning an Olympic gold medal.
The connection with Butler and McDermott goes back to even before last season’s debacle of a season. Both guys trained with each other last summer in Los Angeles, where Butler resides in the offseason.
There’s no telling how Butler will connect with the rest of his teammates this season. But if his cameo at Dwyane Wade‘s introductory presser and country music concerts in the car are any indiction, Butler could be in line for a fun year of basketball.
