Jermaine O'Neal misses second half with sore knee

Published Nov. 8, 2010 10:07 p.m. ET

Boston Celtics center Jermaine O'Neal has been ruled out for the second half of Monday night's game against the Dallas Mavericks with a sore left knee.

O'Neal started and played 11 minutes in the first half, contributing two points and three rebounds.

At halftime, a Celtics spokesman said O'Neal would not return.

O'Neal missed a game against the New York Knicks on Oct. 29 with the same injury, but had played in Boston's last five games.

The Celtics were already without center Shaquille O'Neal, who missed his fifth straight game due to a bruised right knee.
