Jarrett Jack: 'I'm just now fully getting healthy'

For all the talk that there's been about the Nets' weak point guard rotation, Jarrett Jack and Shane Larkin have actually been better than advertised this season. Sure, that's an optimistic way to look at a 1-9 team that probably has less hope moving forward than any other organization in the NBA, but why not look at the bright side of things every once in a while?
Jack had himself one heck of a weekend. He went for 21 points and 12 assists during the Nets' two-point loss to the Kings on Friday. He turned around Saturday and dropped 28 points and nine assists in an overtime loss at Golden State. Jack's combined line, 49 points and 21 assists, is pretty darn impressive for a back-to-back, but two close defeats probably doesn't feel too good for a locker room that must be asking, "What if?" right about now.
Jack doesn't think his improved performance is a coincidence, though. Here's what he had to say, courtesy of the New York Post's Tim Bontemps:
Jack averaging 20 & 10 isn't exactly in the cards for the rest of the year, but his seasonal numbers can certainly improve from where they stand right now. The 10th-year point guard is posting field-goal and three-point percentages far below his career averages.
“To be honest, I’m just now fully getting healthy,” he said. “That’s neither here nor there. There’s no excuses. … Once you step between those lines, nobody wants to hear that, and neither do I, so I’m just coming out and trying to be healthy and do my best to lead this ball club.”
Jack missed the season opener against the Bulls because of the hamstring injury, and said Saturday night that he’d actually tweaked it again playing against the Bucks last week, leading to his minutes being dropped.
He then picked up the bone bruise on his left knee when he took a charge from Jordan Clarkson late in Brooklyn’s loss to the Lakers at Barclays Center on Nov. 6, and also has been playing through a back issue.
