Is R.J. Hunter Boston's best three-point shooter?

Every team in the league should want as many three-point shooters as possible. That includes the Boston Celtics, who enjoyed taking their fair share of outside shots last season but didn't have too many players capable of actually making them on a respectable clip.

R.J. Hunter may solve that problem as early as next season. The rookie wing put his outside shooting skills on display at summer league, and may already be the team's best three-point threat. Here's CBS Boston's Brian Robb with more:

"Hunter proved he could be a viable candidate to fill that void, despite having to battle a crowded Boston backcourt for minutes. After looking absolutely miserable in his first two games in Utah, shooting 0-for-8 from the field, Hunter rebounded and shot 35.6 percent from downtown over eight games. That number is even more impressive when you consider the fact that Hunter wasn’t being shy with his attempts, averaging more than five per game in just 22 minutes of action. The 21-year-old was a volume shooter with NBA range at Georgia State, and that skill is translating well to the big leagues so far. Look for him to be a potential spark plug for Brad Stevens deep in the rotation next year."

Hunter looked like a splash brother in Las Vegas, nailing extremely difficult shots with a hand in his face and off balance. If that carries over into his NBA career, Boston will have a special talent on its hands.
